About Us
From Puebla to Philadelphia
Felipa Ventura and Melquiades Morales arrived in Philadelphia in the early 2000s, bringing the rich flavors and traditions of their homeland with them.

Our Story
Felipa’s passion for food and entrepreneurship began at a young age while helping her mother sell fruits, vegetables, and all kinds of fresh produce in the vibrant markets of Mexico City. Those early experiences planted the seeds of a dream she carried with her for years.

In 2006, after saving diligently, Felipa and her husband, Melquiades, opened their first business: La Ventura Mini Market. It was there that they learned what it truly meant to build something from the ground up. That foundation (and a shared love for authentic Mexican flavors) inspired them to take the next step:
opening a small restaurant in the heart of South Philadelphia.

What began as a hopeful idea to help support their daughter's college education soon grew into a defining chapter of their lives. Today, Felipa and Melquiades continue to pour their heart into their taqueria, dedicated to keeping their food true to its roots—rich in flavor, culture, and family tradition.
